Results of the French Revolution
The French Revolution had far reaching results. The revolution in France abolished feudalism, regulated equality of all people, freedom of all persons and citizens by law and initiated numerous changes that became the founding rock of the new capitalistic social system.Based on the ideas of the French Revolution the new middle class society emerged as the dominant power. The ideas of the French Revolution reached throughout Europe and stayed present among Europeans for a long time. In a period of one generation the Ancien Régime disappeared all over Europe.
The representatives in the Congress of Vienna in 1815 marked the French Revolution as a catastrophe and nest of evil but the ideas of the French Revolution and later the reforms of Napoleon Bonaparte created a wave which could not be stopped.
After year 1815 the Old Order also had to face the national awakening of many nations, which found the inspiration for their national claims in the ideas of the French Revolution.
